Programs
OCNI is proud to offer and participate in several programs. As we continue to build our website over the next few weeks, we will be adding details on our programs and plans, specifically our Indigenous Relations plan, Government relations/Advocacy, and Stakeholder Relations plan.
FEATURED PROGRAM
Ready4SMR
Ready4SMR is a dynamic initiative launched by the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries in 2022, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of businesses to engage with the burgeoning small modular reactor (SMR) supply chain as part of Canada’s SMR Action Plan. The program hosts various educational events and workshops to promote awareness and integration of advanced manufacturing technologies within the industry, ultimately fostering a robust ecosystem for future SMR development.
Canadian Nuclear Law Organization (CNLO)
The CNLO is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the study and understanding of legal matters related to the peaceful application of nuclear energy in Canada and globally. Its primary objectives within the nuclear sector include supporting and engaging in legal education, disseminating information, fostering international collaboration, conducting industry outreach, and facilitating networking opportunities. The CNLO is also affiliated with the International Nuclear Law Association (INLA).
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
OCNI looks beyond our own walls and works with the nuclear industry and supply chain to build an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workforce and space. Our commitments represent what we believe in and who we aspire to be. They inform our behaviours, the decisions we take, and how we work with each other, our members and our communities in the nuclear industry and beyond.
Indigenous Engagement
OCNI is committed to developing positive and mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous communities and implementing an Indigenous relations strategy that aligns with OCNI values of integrity and transparency, and OCNI by-laws and Governance Policies.
OCNI Youth Shadow Council
The OCNI Youth Shadow Council is a volunteer group dedicated to engaging young leaders and youth across Canada, encouraging them to actively participate in shaping the future of the Canadian nuclear sector as we work towards the ‘Net Zero by 2050’ goal. The council focuses on leadership development and outreach by connecting members with industry mentors through a structured mentorship program, offering opportunities for job shadowing and career exploration.
Trade Missions
OCNI has facilitated numerous incoming and outgoing trade missions to countries such as Romania, Argentina, China, India, South Korea, the UK, France, Poland, Czechia, Estonia and South Africa. This approach reflects our dedication to balanced growth, benefiting both our international and domestic partners.
