OCNI Welcomes French Delegation to Strengthen Canada–France Nuclear Collaboration

OCNI recently welcomed a French delegation to Canada in collaboration with GIFEN and Nuclear Valley France, as part of a coordinated series of engagements focused on strengthening collaboration across the nuclear supply chain.

The program featured technical site visits to BWXT Canada Ltd. and Eclipse Automation, providing delegates with direct insight into the capabilities, expertise, and innovation within Canada’s nuclear sector. This was followed by a full day of presentations and discussions at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, where OCNI members and partners highlighted the depth and readiness of Canada’s supply chain across new build, refurbishment, and emerging opportunities.

A key milestone of the visit was the signing of a renewed Memorandum of Understanding between OCNI, the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA), and GIFEN at the French Embassy in Ottawa. The agreement reinforces a shared commitment to strengthening industrial cooperation, supporting knowledge exchange, and advancing long-term collaboration between Canadian and French nuclear organizations.

The week of engagement concluded with the Canadian-French Nuclear Industry Seminar held in advance of CNA2026, providing an additional platform for dialogue and partnership development between industry stakeholders from both countries.

OCNI looks forward to building on the momentum generated throughout the visit and continuing to support international collaboration that strengthens Canada’s nuclear supply chain and global competitiveness.
