The Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries Congratulates its 2024 Service Excellence Award Winners and Announces New and Returning Directors at its Annual General Meeting
December 9, 2024, Pickering, Ontario – The Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI) held its AGM, Awards, and Holiday Luncheon – a 45th Anniversary Celebration Event on December 5th with broad participation from 260+ member companies.
The 2024 OCNI Service Excellence Awards were presented to 13 OCNI member companies by OCNI Interim President and CEO Brian Fehrenbach. “The OCNI Service Excellence Awards are a celebration of the remarkable achievements within our industry and membership. This year, we proudly recognized milestones of our 45th Anniversary, such as our founding members, and introduced the newly established Legacy of Excellence Award, which honours the late Brian Agnew, a deeply respected OCNI Board member and passionate advocate for the nuclear supply chain. These awards are not just about individual recognition but about showcasing the collective talent, dedication, and innovation that make our community exceptional,” said Brian Fehrenbach.
Awards presented:
- “Legacy of Excellence” Award: Framatome Canada Ltd. for their profound and lasting impact on the nuclear industry, demonstrating decades of leadership, meaningful partnerships, and sustained contributions that have helped shape and strengthen the nuclear supply chain.
- “Balance Means Business” Award: Lisa McBride for her exceptional leadership in advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, fostering a workplace where balance drives innovation and success.
- “Small Service Excellence” Award: Caitlin Stone Consulting for their dedication to excellence, and unwavering community support that set a standard of professionalism and care that inspires all.
- “Service Excellence” Award: Promation Nuclear for their unwavering commitment to outstanding service, exceeding expectations, and fostering excellence through innovation and team development.
- “Innovation” Award: Deep Trekker for their groundbreaking innovation, creativity, and forward-thinking solutions that address challenges with originality and impact.
- “Export” Award: AtkinsRéalis for exceptional achievements in international business and export success; their innovative strategies, competitive edge, and dedication to excellence have set a high standard in the global marketplace.
- “Special Contribution” Award: Jeff Acorn, Matt MacDonald, and Ron Oberth for their outstanding contributions, unwavering dedication, and remarkable impact on the advancement of the nuclear industry.
- “Founding Members” Award: AtkinsRéalis, BWXT Canada Ltd., L3Harris MAPPS Inc., Lakeside Process Controls, and Sulzer Pumps (Canada) Incorporated for their vital support to OCNI and key contributions to building the Canadian nuclear industry supply chain.
OCNI was pleased to honour outgoing Board Director Matt MacDonald, who displayed initiative, leadership, and diligence on a wide variety of OCNI assignments during his tenure on the board.
OCNI is also pleased to announce that Fabricia Piñeiro Tresierra was re-elected as Chair of the Board of Directors, along with Lisa McBride as Vice Chair, Emma Hauch as Secretary, and Tanya Bodiroga as Treasurer. OCNI members also approved the appointment of five new and returning directors for three-year terms on the 14- person OCNI Board.
