Celebrating Innovation in Medical Isotopes — OCNI, Bruce Power & Kinectrics

This morning November 13th, 2025, the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI), in partnership with Bruce Power, proudly hosted another successful Supplier Engagement Event — this time celebrating Kinectrics and their groundbreaking advancements in medical isotope production.

The event highlighted Kinectrics’ commissioning of four new, second-generation Electromagnetic Isotope Separator (EMIS) units, marking a major milestone in Canada’s leadership in medical isotope innovation. This expansion will enable the treatment of over 150,000 cancer patients each year, further strengthening the global impact of Canada’s nuclear supply chain.

The milestone was made possible through collaboration across industry and government, including support from FedDev Ontario and the Government of Ontario’s Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) Program.

Learn more about this exciting achievement, the partnerships driving it, and the impact on Canada’s clean energy and healthcare future.
