| Fusion Energy: The Next Chapter for Canada’s Nuclear Sector Webinar OCNI is pleased to invite members and industry partners to a one-hour virtual webinar on February 10, exploring the rapid global advancement of fusion energy and Canada’s emerging role in this transformative field. Fusion energy is moving quickly from long-term research to near-term engineering and commercialization, driven by breakthroughs in AI-enabled simulation, high-temperature superconductors, and advanced materials. Canada is well-positioned to play a meaningful role — and this session offers OCNI members a clear view of where the field is heading and how the domestic fusion ecosystem is evolving. The webinar will feature Dr. Charles Spencer Pitcher, Co-founder and CEO of Stellarex Group Ltd. and former Fusion Technology Principal Engineer at ITER in France. With more than 40 years of experience in the fusion energy sector, Dr. Pitcher brings a unique perspective from both global demonstration programs and Canada’s emerging fusion landscape.During the session, Dr. Pitcher will discuss the current state of global fusion development, introduce Stellarex and its Canadian demonstration plans, and highlight the role of the newly launched Centre for Fusion Energy in supporting a coordinated national approach and future fusion supply chain.
