SUMMARY:Advanced SMR Supply Chain Readiness in Canada: Gap Analysis and Strategic Opportunities Webinar(April 9)
DESCRIPTION:Canada stands at a pivotal moment in the deployment of advanced Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). A national supply-chain study led by the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI) and supported by Natural Resources Canada’s Enabling SMR Program identifies a potential $15–20 billion domestic opportunity and thousands of high-skill jobs\, but also a narrow 12–18-month window before global supplier capacity for key inputs such as fuels\, graphite\, heavy forgings\, and specialized testing infrastructure is committed elsewhere. \n\n\n\nDrawing on cross-vendor analysis of five leading advanced SMR designs\, this webinar highlights recurring supply-chain bottlenecks including TRISO and molten-salt fuel capabilities\, nuclear-grade graphite production\, coolant-system test infrastructure\, and qualification of Division-5 materials and manufacturing processes. \n\n\n\nThe session will explore how these gaps shape FOAK project risk\, schedule\, and Canadian industrial participation\, and discuss emerging efforts to strengthen Canada’s SMR supply chain. \n\n\n\nWe hope you can join us for this informative session. \n\n\n\nEvent Details: \n\n\n\nDate: April 9\, 2026 \n\n\n\nTime: 10:30 am – 11:30 am ET \n\n\n\nPlatform: TEAMS Webinar

SUMMARY:OCNI Supply Chain Forum – Mobilizing Canada’s Nuclear Supply Chain & Incoming SK/NB Delegation
DESCRIPTION:April 30\, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Ottawa  \n\n\n\nAs the Canadian Nuclear Association Conference concludes\, OCNI will host a focused\, half-day working session designed to translate CNA discussions into practical supply chain action.  \n\n\n\nThroughout CNA\, we will hear strong signals around SMR deployment timelines\, procurement pathways\, advanced manufacturing adoption\, Indigenous participation\, regulatory readiness\, and federal support mechanisms. This session will synthesize those signals and examine what they mean for Canadian suppliers in the near term.  \n\n\n\nThe program will include:  \n\n\n\n• A rapid CNA recap highlighting key procurement and policy signals  \n\n\n\n• Perspectives from industry and government on Canada’s evolving nuclear landscape  \n\n\n\n• Updates on NRCan-supported eSMR initiatives advancing supply chain readiness  \n\n\n\n• A curated B2B engagement session connecting suppliers with utilities\, developers\, EPCs\, and peer firms  \n\n\n\n• Closing reflections on supply chain alignment and next steps  \n\n\n\nBuilding on the supplier activation model piloted during our December AGM mission\, this session will emphasize practical alignment\, commercial traction\, and interprovincial collaboration.  \n\n\n\nThe B2B component will be carefully curated to ensure meaningful interactions and is not intended to operate as a general networking reception. While registration will be open to a broad audience\, structured B2B meetings will be arranged with selected companies and representatives based on capabilities and areas of interest. Informal side conversations are\, of course\, always welcome throughout the session.  \n\n\n\nParticipants who express interest in the B2B component will receive a follow-up request for additional company information and capability details to support the meeting coordination process.  \n\n\n\nParticipation will be limited to ensure meaningful engagement.  \n\n\n\nRegister Here!
