ATP Council

Advanced Technologies & Processes (ATP) Council

The Advanced Technologies & Processes (ATP) Council will advise on research, development, and implementation of emerging technologies and processes to transform and create new opportunities for the nuclear supply chain.

New and innovative technologies and processes will benefit nuclear power producer operations, including maintenance, life extension, project delivery, fuel cycle, decommissioning and waste management, and help to ensure that Canada’s current nuclear fleet will continue to provide safe, reliable and cost competitive power for the next 50 years and beyond. The commercial scale deployment of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) will also require new technologies, processes and novel applications to ensure that SMR’s can provide safe, reliable, and cost competitive power and energy for both on and off-grid applications.

Scope:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Augmented and Virtual Reality
  • Electronic Quality Assurance
  • Blockchain
  • 5G
  • Cyber Security
  • Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
  • Remotely Operated and Autonomous Vehicles (ROV, AV)

OCNI Advanced Manufacturing Forum

(Dates: November 10-11, 2020) The 2020 OCNI Advanced Manufacturing Forum: Strength Through Innovation 2020 is now complete! As we continue to adjust to a world impacted by COVID-19, this virtual event allowed companies, government organizations, research groups, and more from all over Canada to connect, share knowledge and learn about the latest developments, regulatory standards, and the future of advanced manufacturing in the Nuclear sector.

The event focused on exploring innovative manufacturing technologies, identifying customer expectations and requirements, and understanding the regulatory environment with an underlying theme of nuclear supply chain strength through innovation. Attendees will have access to the PDF presentations that speakers have allowed OCNI to share. If you missed the event and would like to purchase access to view any of the recorded sessions, please email OCNI.

Blockchain and Applications for the Nuclear Industry

(Date: October 6, 2020) The inaugural webinar of the OCNI Advanced Technology and Process series, explored blockchain technology and the potential applications for the nuclear industry. Originally developed to underpin the bitcoin cryptocurrency network, blockchain technology has many enthusiastic supporters who see the potential of its distributed ledger of digital assets. Our expert panelists will explore the origins, technology, and real-life applications of blockchain, from asset management to regulatory compliance, and the future of quality assurance processes.
